APR 18, 2005 (newstodage): Georgia has been admitted to the European Civil Aviation Conference, ECAC.
Founded in 1955 by 19 states with the objective of promoting the continued development of a safe, efficient and sustainable European air transport system, ECAC has, since 1990, more than doubled its membership with States mainly from Central and Eastern Europe, and Georgia has now become ECAC's 42nd member state.
Before Georgia's admission, the latest newcomers to ECAC were Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Yugoslavia in November, 2002.
