APR 08, 2005 (newstodate): The airline/GSA industry badly needs a new standard for remuneration of services rendered, according to a major GSA with offices in Central and Eastern Europe.
-The airlines' pricing policy has changed dramatically during the recent years toward more and more surcharges, whilst the remuneration scheme for GSA has remained untouched, says a spokesman (name and company known to newstodate).
-After five years or so of selling, collecting and reimbursing the surcharges for free, we decided to approach our airline clients and introduce a non-popular, but badly needed five percent service fee on the amount of other charges collected for the airlines.
-It is our belief that this should become a new industry standard, which would reflect the cost and workload attached to this service, he says.
