MAY 17, 2005 (newstodate): British Airways World Cargo is working on designing a new website to facilitate more sophisticated internet bookings.
-We are of course dedicated to increasing the volume of electronic bookings to enhance efficiency and provide more services to customers, says Keith Packer, BAWC VP marketing.
-Compared to existing facilitites provided by other companies, our new website will take business on to a higher level by adding a wide range of new facilities and, first of all, by being designed to match individual customers, he says.
Basically, the new website will be integrated with BAWC's sophisticated yield management system.
-This will allow us to provide our known customers, identified by detailed profiles, with customised offers, rates and access to capacity reflecting their history with BAWC and their business relationship with us. Thus not two customers may receive the same response to their entries, and while providing customers with preferential treatment it will also enable us to capitalise on our scarce resource - capacity, says Mr Packer.
No launch date has yet been announced for the new website.
