SEP 08, 2005 (newstodate): Boeing landed the much-coveted aircraft order from Polish Airlines LOT for seven Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Boeing thus beat its rival Airbus' offer for the A350 after a heated running-up.
In addition to the firm order for seven 787, LOT also holds options for a further two aircraft, plus purchase orders for additionally five aircraft in a deal valued at approximately USD910 million at list prices.
LOT will receive its first Dreamliner by 2008.
With this latest order, 22 airlines have announced firm orders and commitments for 263 Dreamliners since the launch of the aircraft in April 2004.
