Feb 1, 2006 (newstodate): The Vnukovo-based Russian airline, Atlant-Soyuz has resumed its cooperation with UN organisations.
The carrier, owned by Moscow City's government, has been active in the market for relief and other UN flight operations since its formation in 1993, and won back its accrediatation in 2005 after a scaled-down period since 2000 of UN contract operations.
On December 29, 2005, the carrier completed the transportation of a UN peacemaking force from Delhi to Kigali, Ruanda, comprising three IL-86 flights to lift 1,700 soldiers and 30 tonnes of military equipment.
