Mar 7, 2006 (newstodate): In January ,2006, Singapore Airlines Cargo brought the only glad tidings in the Swedish IATA air cargo market that dropped 1.7 percent to a total of 7,814 tonnes.
The carrier managed to up its ex-Sweden cargo volumes by 148.5 percent, to a total of 514 tonnes, representing a market share at 6.6 percent.
SAS Cargo remained the no. 1 cargo carrier in January, with a total of 1,478 tonnes, but with a decline by 7.3 percent in volumes.
British Airways World Cargo, with a market share at 4.9 percent in January, saw volumes up by 41.3 percent to 380 tonnes, boosted by the inclusion of Stockholm as a destination on BAWC's European Shorthaul Freighter Program from November 1, 2005.
Second on the top-10 list of cargo carriers is Martinair with a 15.3 percent share of the market, and generating 1.196 tonnes of cargo in January, down 13.9 percent.
Third came Lufthansa Cargo, holding 12.9 percent of the IATA market with 1,007 tonnes of cargo, down 3.7 percent.
No 2 in growth was Thai Airways with a 3.4 percent of the market, a total of 264 tonnes of cargo and an increase by 28.1 percent against last year.
