Among the companies reportedly showing intereset in taking over the company is Virgin Atlantic, and earlier reports claimed similar interest from SAS.

99.9 percent of the stake in Bulgaria Air will be floated, and the state wants to see the process through quickly, enabling the carrier to be ready ahead of the implementation of the EU Open Skies Treaty to comprise Bulgaria from the start of 2007.
