May 22, 2006 (newstodate): From tomorrow, Montenegro Airlines will resume full services to and from Serbia according to schedule.
A number of flights between Serbia and Montenegro by the airline were suspended from May 19 to May 22.
The airline, however, denies that this had any connection with the referendum, on Sunday May 21, on a proposal to split off from the Yugoslav union with Serbia.
-The demand for international flights had increased during these days, which was the reason for introducing additional flights on our scheduled destinations Zurich, Frankfurt, Vienna, Rome, Paris etc, says Danijela Ivanovic, Montenegro Airlines Marketing Dept.
-This was the reason behind the reduction in domestic traffic. What is crucial for us, as a company which operates commercially, is to have every ticket paid. And as far as domestic flights are concerned there are companies that operate from Belgrade to Montenegro and have enough capacities to meet the passengers' requirements.
The fleet of Montenegro Airlines consists of five Fokker 100 aircraft, of which one has been leased to the air company Albatros Airways for the period of two years, while a second aircraft is in for scheduled maintenance, leaving the carrier to operate only three aircraft.
