Jul 7, 2006 (newstodate): SAS Cargo has strengthened its focus on the East European and Baltic markets through organisational changes.
In Lithuania, where forwarders have often objected to alleged rule-breaking by certain cargo GSAs, SAS Cargo has decided to return to sales through its own office.
Since 2004, SAS Cargo has been represented in the Lithuanian market by AAS, set up and managed by Daiwa Palm, till then a SAS employee.
Returning to SAS Cargo, Daiwa Palm will now act as SAS Cargo sales manager Lithuania.
SAS Cargo has also named Ms Palm as SAS Cargo sales manager Baltic, Russia, and CIS markets in an effort to strengthen the focus on these markets.
SAS Cargo has further named Radoslaw Szafko as new SAS Cargo sales manager Poland, Hungary & Czech Republic, also reflecting the company's decision to sharpen its profile and enhance its presence in these markets.
-These are only a few of the current steps taken under a new strategy for the East European markets, says Marianne Hurtig, SAS Cargo area manager.
-More news and initiatives in these markets can be expected by this autumn already, she says.
