Aug 4, 2006 (newstodate): West Air Sweden has shelved plans to charter a Cimber Air CRJ200 aircraft to served Post Norway on the route from Oslo via Tromso to Svalbard.
The carrier has instead decided to acquire an ex-Ansett BAe 146 that will serve this special operation on an interim basis from October 28.
At the same time, the carrier has ordered two Bombardier CRJ200 converted freighters that will be delivered by March and April, 2007.
When the CRJ freighters have entered the fleet, West Air Sweden will consider the future of its BAe 146 that may either be sold off or deployed on some other route by the carrier.
