Sep 22, 2006 (newstodate): The Swedish operator of routes from Stockholm to Erbil and Suliamaniyah in Kurdish Iraq is in the market for a new aircraft.
The weekly flights are provided by Viking Airlines that earlier leased an aircraft from the Jordan carrier Sawan Airlines to serve the route.
This arrangement has been ceased, and the route is currently served with Viking Airlines' MD-83 aircraft.
But the operator, Flygbutikken in Stockholm, is now seeking an aircraft to perform full charters between Stockholm and Erbil on a one year contract starting from the next winter, using an Egyptian broker, Spot Aviation, to search the market.
