Jan 12, 2007 (newstodate): Stockholm Skavsta Airport is upbeat about sustained air cargo growth in 2007.
-While the final statistics are not yet available I can safely conclude that 2006 ended on a high note, with a growth in cargo volumes about 18 percent over the 15,000 tonnes in 2005, says Dag Berglov, Skavsta Airport cargo manager.
-The volume of ad-hoc widebody freighter operations was over 20 and perhaps the largest in eight or ten years, and given the near-by presence of one of Sweden's largest excport airfreight generators, Ericsson, I have good reason to expect 2007 to continue the most positive trend.
-We are still negotiating with a few scheduled freighter operators, and it is of course our aspiration to be able to announce, in 2007, the opening of scheduled air cargo services at Skavsta Airport, says Mr Berglov.
