Jan 25, 2007 (newstodate): WFS is watching out for new business opportunities in western and eastern Europe.
-We are looking at places where there is enough business and where one can a build a warehouse. We are looking more at Hungary, Ukraine and some Baltic locations, but there are not going to be any developments within the next few months, WFS president Olivier Bijaoui told a news conference in London.
Mr Bijaoui ruled out the Czech Republic due to a lack of likely business, and denied any interest in setting up business in Russia.
-We are not going there. The answer is No. There is a lot of corruption, and it is very complicated doing business there, he emphasized.
The world's largest cargo handling company, WFS handled over three million tonnes of cargo in 2006, and employs some 12,000 staff worldwide at 119 sites in 20 countries.
