Oct 25, 2007 (newstodate): After the first foreign acquisition of a Russian airport, Ulan Ude, the Austrian company Meinl Airports International is stretching out for further moves.
Meinl is eyeing 15 more airports in Russia and "other countries" in the region that could become potential business cases, and the company says that at least one further acquisition will be announced before the end of this year, while mutual commitments have been reached in several other cases.
Under Meinl's strategy smaller airports may be considered for acquisition, while large airport may be targeted for strategic investments.
