Oct 25, 2007 (newstodate): A team led by the British architectural practice Grimshaw won the design competition for a USD471 million terminal at St Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport.
The new 149.000 sq m terminal, designed for domestic and international traffic, will have sufficient capacity to handle up to 17.5 million passengers per year.
The existing buildings at Pulkovo will be retained and will operate until the inauguration of the new site. They will then be renovated, though the exterior facade will be retained.
