Feb 27, 2007 (newstodate): The new terminal at Tbilisi Airport, Georgia, officially opened on February 7 after a prolonged series of delays and changes of entrepreneurs, lost part of its roof during a storm this weekend.
Noone was hurt, and flights continued unaffected during the weekend.
The Turkish company TAV, together with its Turkish construction partner Urban, holds 15 years management rights of the airport, and work has started to repair the damages.
TAV claims that noone could predict storms of this magnitude to hit Georgia.
