Aug 27, 2007 (newstodate): Eimskip has reached agreement for the disposal of its 49 percent holding in Avion Aircraft Trading to a buy-out team consisting of Hafthor Hafsteinsson, Chairman of AAT, Arngrimur Johannsson, member of the AAT board of directors and other AAT key managers.
The sales proceeds amount to USD 28 million, and the profit on disposal before tax is estimated to be USD 24 million.
AAT was wholly owned by Eimskip until October 2006 when Eimskip sold a 51 percent holding in the company to the same party as now.
-We have had a very enjoyable collaboration with Eimskip over the last six months, but considered this the right time to acquire the remaining shares in the company. We are working on some very exciting projects and expect great opportunities, supporting this investment, says Hafthor Hafsteinsson, Avion Aircraft Trading chairman.
