Jan 8, 2008 (newstodate): EU-carriers, members of AEA, saw their cargo volumes up by 4.4 percent y-o-y during Q3, 2007, measured in FTKs.
The moderate growth was driven by a 5.8 percent increase in the North Atlantic traffic and a 1.1 percent increase in the traffic between Europe and the Far East and Australia, generating 7,711 and 4,361 mio FTKs, respectively.
The highest growth, however, was seen in the traffic between Europe and sub-Sahara Africa that was up 22.5 percent, albeit generating only 857 mio FTKs.
EU domestic, 29 mio FTK, and EU cross-border traffic, 184 mio FTKs, decrased by 9.2 and 1.9 percent, respectively
