Jan 17, 2008 (newstodate): Like Airbus concerning its A380 program, Boeing has also had to revise the first flights and deliveries of its new Dreamliner.
Already delayed by six months, the Boeing 787 first flight has now been postponed till around the end of Q2, 2008, rather than before the end of 2007 as originally planned, and the deliveries will start early 2009 rather than late this year as earlier scheduled.
Boeing has outsourced production of all major parts and components to suppliers, and final assembly has proved that further finishing work has been necessary before "power on".
