Originally plannning for delivery of the first of nine Airbus A350 from 2011, Finnair now expects to receive the aircraft from 2014, instead, due to prolonged program delays.
In addition to the firm order for nine A350 XWB aircraft, Finnair also has four options.
The carrier has also ordered eight Airbus A330, plus two options, as well as four A430 aircraft.
The new aircraft will replace Finnair's total of seven MD-11 aircraft, two of which will be converted to freighters by Aeroflot Cargo.
