Nov 20, 2008 (newstodate): Vladivostok International Airport is to be thoroughly modernised with new airport infrastructure and a new passenger terminal.
The Russian state has passed its 52.16 percent ownership stake to Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport that will thus control Vladivostok Airport and secure its modernisation process.
Behind the move is the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit in Vladivostok in 2012 that will attract 30 delagations from 21 states and more than 5,000 journalists as well as 7,000 specialists and business people.
Vladivostok International Airport is the second Russian airport to be controlled by Moscow Sheremetyevo that also, earlier in 2008, took control of modernisation at Irkutsk International Airport
