Dec 5, 2008 (newstodate): Before the end of this year, a new association in the aviation industry will go live and present itself on the internet.
The first step towards creation of ATLA, Airline Traders and Lessors Association, was taken in September when a working group met in Miami to formulate the outlines of the new initiative.
-We are now in the final run-up to launching our website, providing information on the association's purpose and goals and seeking contact with potential applicants for membership, says Marc Melgaard, AeroLink, one of the aircraft brokering companies behind the initiative.
-From the outset ATLA will have some 10 members, but we expect membership to include up to 300 companies within the first year, says Mr Melgaard.
The purpose of the new association is to secure quality in the brokering and aircraft lease industries.
