Sep 17, 2008 (newstodate): During January-July, 2008, Slovenia's Adria Airways saw its cargo volumes up by eight percent.
The carrier handled a total of 1,364 tonnes during the period, also boosted by volumes in July that accrued to 226 tonnes, up 47 percent, y-o-y.
In September, 2007, the airline decided not to realise earlier plans for acquiring freighter aircraft, relying instead on passenger aircraft belly capacity as before.
Growth has, however, continued, and further development is expected after the implementation from August this year of eChamp Cargo System to support cargo bookings, sales and operations.
