Dec 10, 2009 (newstodate): Kaliningrad, the Russian enclave by the Baltic Sea, is attracting many Russian operators after the fall of the region's leading carrier, KD Avia.
Also coming to Kaliningrad now is Russia's S7 Sibir Airlines that will offer a daily rotation with Airbus A319/Boeing 737 aircraft from January 30, 2010.
S7 will operate from Moscow Domodedovo Airport, offering early morning flights connecting to the carrier's network at its Moscow base.
KD Avia folded its wings on September 1, 2009, after two years' eventually unsuccessful efforts to build up Kaliningrad as a hub for traffic between Russia and Europe.
