Feb 11, 2009 (newstodate): Despite a strong decline in Sweden's air cargo market, cargo GSA Air Trade Support still sees signs of light in the darkness.
-We had a fairly good start to 2009 as we are contracted by South African Airways Cargo to serve as their cargo GSA in the Swedish market from January 1, says Soren Eng, Air Trade Support general manager.
-Also from the same date, Air Trade Support, through our subsidiary Air Cargo Services, took over Finnair Cargo's booking services in the Swedish market. Finnair Cargo, however, still manages its own cargo sales in Sweden as before.
-Among our other airline principals are Swiss WorldCargo, Novair, Thomas Cook Scandinavia, and Asiana that launched twice-weekly freighter flights between Incheon and Gothenburg on July 17, 2007. This carrier is now further strengthening its position in the Swedish market by moving its Friday departure to Saturday, providing a full week's work to fill up the freighter.
-Asiana is a prime carrier for us as it provides not only excellent services to Korea, but also onward flights to a wide range of destinations in the Asian region as well as Australia, says Mr. Eng.
