Jun 03, 2009 (newstodate): The privatisation process for Polish carrier LOT is progressing, and a consultant to advise the state on the tender procedures and documentation is to be named by mid-June, sources say.
The Polish state is to sell 49 percent of the shares in the airline to a foreign investor, reducing its currently 68 percent ownership, and plans are next to sell all state-owned shared within three years.
According to sources in the industry, Lufthansa has been in close negotiations with the Polish state for buying into LOT.
