Jul 29, 2009 (newstodate): Effective from November 4, 2009, Germany's second-largest carrier Air Berlin plans to launch flights from Germany to Kosovo.
The carrier has signed a cooperation agreement with tour operator Kosova Airlines, which will enable the German company to operate at Kosovo's Prishtina International Airport.
Air Berlin plans to operate flights to Pristina from Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich, with the service operating up to twice a week.
From winter 2009/10 Air Berlin will add daily flights from Zurich, Switzerland, as well as a weekly flights from Geneva, Switzerland, to Pristina.
Among further ambitions are also flights from Kosovo by Air Berlin to New York.
