Jul 02, 2009 (newstodate): Kazakhstan's DETA AIR has signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with IAI, Israel Aerospace Industries for maintenance of its freighter fleet and training of technicians.
DETA AIR, set up in 2003 and based at Almaty, is Kazakhstan's first regular air cargo carrier, currently operating a fleet comprising two former Aeroflot-Cargo DC-10-40, and two IL-62M aircraft leased from the Russian company Meridian.
The carrier expects to carry about 12,000 tonnes of cargo in 2009 on a route network connecting Kazakhstan, China, Korea, Europe and the Middle East.
