Aug 18, 2009 (newstodate): Danish provider of logistics and airfreight road feeder services, Haugsted is contend with its recent acquisition by Luxembourg-based Wallenborn Transport.
Haugsted, with offices in Copenhagen and Bilund, Denmark, and Oslo, Norway, was earlier owned by Dachser since March 2005.
-With our integration with Wallenborn we are so to speak "returning home" in the sense that both companies are engaged in the same core business, namely European airline road feeder services, says Steen Bill, Haugsted managing director.
-Synergies never developed between Haugsted and Dachser that is active in a range of other services besides the road feeder services. Also our IT-systems never communicated, which will be entirely different with Wallenborn operating a dedicated IT-system that will prove an immediate benefit to us as well, once implemented at Haugsted.
-Haugsted adds comprehensive coverage with airline RFS in the entire Scandinavian market, with Copenhagen Airport as our prime hub for air cargo between the Nordic region and continental airports. This will prove a valuable asset in Wallenborn's strategy to develop a truly pan-European RFS system, says Mr Bill.
