Aug 03, 2009 (newstodate): The privately-owned Russian carrier Polet Airlines is now taking in its first of six new Il-96-400T freighter aircraft.
The first aircraft, now at the carrier's base in Ulyanovsk, is completing its certification process after technical flights and documentation, and the second aircraft will be commissioned by mid-August.
A third Il-96-400T will be delivered before the end of this year, and the remaining three aircraft are due for delivery in 2010.
The aircraft were originally produced for Aeroflot-Cargo that decided, however, to back out from the order.
