Sep 01, 2009 (newstodate): Effective from October 25, 2009, Danish airline Cimber Sterling plans to launch flights to the Czech Republic, filling the void after SkyEurope.
The carrier will offer three daily flights from Copenhagen Airport to Prague Ruzyne Airport, using a mix of Boeing 737/CRJ aircraft on the route.
Cimber served the route till August 11, 2008, and SAS pulled out from October 25, 2008, both airline citing over-capacity on the route as the reason to lay down services.
Back then, traffic between Copenhagen and Prague was provided by CSA, SkyEurope and Sterling, later acquired by Cimber.
Since then the market has changed, and the Czech carrier CSA and Norway's Norwegian are currently alone in serving the important market after the demise of the Slovak LCC SkyEurope, announced today.
