Jan 29, 2010 (newstodate): The privatization of Kosovo's Prishtina International Airport is entering the final stage.
Three bidders are short-listed for the final round, the reuslt of which will be announced "very sooon".
Contending for the 20-year management contract for Prishtina International Airport are Turkish-German consortium Fraport/ICTAS, the Turkish-French consortium Limak-Airport de Lyon, and the international consortium Bouyges Batiment-Egis-PAIC.
The successful bidder will be obliged to invest 100 mio euro in the airport, including construction of a new 25,000 sq m passenger terminal, air traffic control facilities, new apron, taxiways, water treatment facility, and other infrastructure.
Prishtina International Airport has one 2,500 m runway and handled 1.2 mio passengers in 2009.
