Jan 26, 2010 (newstodate): Air cargo volumes seem to be recovering after a year of decline at Sweden's Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.
In November 2009, the latest month so far reported, the total volumes of air cargo, 4,009 tonnes, were back to 2008-levels with imports rising one percent to 1,976 tonnes, and exports down two percent to 2,033 tonnes.
During January-November, 2009, volumes are thus down by 13 percent, to 39,273 tonnes, but steadily creeping down from the bottom since the significant drop in volumes by 33 percent in January alone.
Over the year, imports have been hardest hit by the economic downturn in the market, dropping 23 percent, y-o-y, during the first 11 months of 2009.
Exports have fared better, especially during the latter half of the year, only three percent down on 2008.
