Nov 29, 2010 (newstodate): Bosnia Herzegovina's Sarajevo International Airport is to be upgraded with new infrastructure, aided by loans from EBRD.
The airport has now opened a tender calling for consultancy services to advice the airport on procurement, tender document review, tender evaluation, contracting and contract implementation and administration, reporting to the Lenders and general support for implementation of the works.
Works will include the expansion of the passenger terminal, expansion of the apron, and upgrading the taxiway system.
The existing passenger terminal will be expanded from 9,000 square meters to 17,000 square meters, allowing for the addition of a further four aircraft stands on the apron.
This will also require an upgrading of the taxiway system at the airport.
The project implementation is planned to start by Q2, 2011, and is expected to be completed by end of 2013.
