Feb 19, 2010 (newstodate): At Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, LFV sees no operational problems with security for the cargo business.
-At both airports, the cargo terminals have direct access to the airside "hard" security zone, says Bjorn Ragnebrink, LFV director air cargo development.
-Shipments for air carriage arrive at the terminals as fully secured in compliance with EU regulations, meaning they are picked up at the facility of a certified shipper and arrive with a certified haulier guaranteeing against any pilfering and interference with the cargo along the road.
-If any doubt at all, the shipments are X-rayed at the terminal and not released before their status has been verified.
-After that, shipments are palletized and containerized and can be transported directly to the aircraft inside the "hard" security zone without further procedures.
-All staff involved is of course security cleared and screened as well, says Mr Ragnebrink.
