May 06, 2010 (newstodate): Long overdue, the first deliveries of Russia's new Superjet 100 aircraft are now slated for late 2010.
The first airlines to receive the Superjet will be Armavia and Aeroflot that have ordered two and 30 aircraft, respectively.
First delivery was originally planned for late 2008, later revised to late 2009, and again delayed till mid-2010.
Certification of the aircraft is now expected by Q3, 2010, and not summer 2010 as earlier hoped for.
Behind the latest delays are problems with production of the new engines for the aircraft.
