May 14, 2010 (newstodate): Bratislava Airport, in Slovakia, will open its new passenger terminal in June, 2010, increasing the annual handling capacity to three mio passengers.
The question, however, remains: who will provide the traffic after the demise last year of SkyEurope, and the bankruptcy of Air Slovakia in 2010.
Ryanair is one remaining carrier at the airport, and the Czech Travel Services has also announced plans to set up its new base at Bratislava from this summer.
But the airport is keen to seek new traffic and has now contracted ASM, Airport Strategy and Marketing to analyze the development of the airport's future route offerings.
ASM will work on airlines in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the CIS to see potentials for new routes to and from Bratislava Airport.
