Jun 16, 2010 (newstodate): Air cargo is benefiting from the rebound in 2010 in air traffic at Lithuania's Vilnius Airport.
A total of 462 tonnes of cargo was handled at Vilnius Airport in May, an increase by 41.7 percent compared to May 2009 where volumes dipped by 30 percent to record low levels.
For January-May 2010 totals are 2,052 tonnes, up 25 percent, y-o-y.
The Latvian carrier airBaltic remains the main driver of the development, carrying 33.7 percent of the total volumes during the first five months of 2010, followed by Aviavilsa operating for DHL with 29 percent, while other carrier contribute only small parts of the total volume.
