Sep 17, 2010 (newstodate): October 31, 2010 will see the opening of the new dedicated low-cost pier, CPH GO, at Copenhagen Airport. In the meantime plans for a competing concept, a true low-cost terminal is still on the agenda.
Named Terminal A, the project is driven by a group of private investors that has, however, so far met with a blank refusal from the airport to their application for renting land for their purpose in the northern part of Copenhagen Airport.
The refusal has been brought to the Danish Competition Authority that is currently investigating and handling the complaint by the group.
How long that process will take remains uncertain.
-The board handling cases like this normally meets once a month unless the planned meeting is called off. And we do not inform of such cancellations, and provide also no information of the agenda of planned meetings, says Hanne Arentoft, Danish Competition Authority communications manager.
To round off its information policies, the Authority also does not provide any comments on normal or expected handling times for individual cases under investigation.
Once a verdict is passed in favor of the stalled low-cost terminal project, some 18 months are required for legal issues and construction works before operations can be commenced.
