Jan 12, 2011 (newstodate): Plans for a new airline to provide flights via Denmark's Copenhagen Airport between the UK and the Indian Subcontinent have now been shelved.
-Although preparations were in an advanced stage we lost the financial backing by our single most important investor, and this has effectively brought the project to a halt, says Niels Hemmingsen, project spokesman with a past in SAS.
Other persons involved in the project coined in Danish aviation circles included Muddaser Hussain, Sahil Airlines CEO, Peter Trampedach, Sahil Airlines Technical director with many years with SAS Technical, and Danny Skov, Sahil Airlines Head of cabin crew, and formerly Air Greenland Cabin Crew Manager.
Sahil Airlines was officially registered in Denmark as a company in 2009.
