Jan 18, 2011 (newstodate): Iran's civil aviation authorities have now banned operations with TU-154 aircraft.
A total of 18 TU-154 aircraft are operated by Iranian carriers including Iran Air Tours with 14 TU-154, Kish Air with two aircraft, Eram Air with one aircraft, and Taban with one TU-154, and all have now been grounded.
Instead, Iran plans to import 13 MD aircraft and six Airbus A320 aircraft from yet-unnamed sources, and the country has now also reportedly started the program to deliver HESA IrAn-140 cargo and passenger aircraft.
The IrAn-140 is a short-range turboprop aircraft based on the Antonov An-140 and built under license by HESA of Iran.
