Nov 10, 2011 (newstodate): Estonia may find a role as a future transfer hub in the Baltic region - but consolidation of Tallinn Airport and Estonian Air is first on the agenda.
-It is very encouraging that Estonian Air is now to place orders for another five Bombardier aircraft aiming at setting up an efficient network comprising important Scandinavian, Baltic and European destinations, says Rasmus Ruuda, Estonia's Ministry of Transportation Counsellor.
-This brings hopes for attaining profitable operations within some two years, and with more traffic by Estonian Air, Tallinn Airport will also be in a position to attract more carriers into Estonia and gradually become a hub in the Baltic region.
-After that, potentials might even develop for introducing also long-haul services, but first thing first: the prime target now is to build up Estonian Air and consolidate traffic at Tallinn Airport, says Mr Ruuda
