nov 18, 2011 (newstodate): Little news has emerged from Iceland´s new low-cost venture, WOW Air to be established by Skuli Mogensen and Matthias Imsland, former Iceland Express CEO.
According to its facebook profile and its website, the initiative has met with great enthusiasm among applicants for cabin and cockpit jobs - but apart from that no concrete information has been released.
WOW Air is supposed to take to the air from summer 2012, but no info on network or schedules has been published yet.
Expectations in the Icelandic market are that WOW Air will start with two Boeing 737-400 operated by the Irish AOC holder, Air Contractors.
Indications are also that the carrier may operate only during the summer season, taking on the role as a tour operator, rather than an airline.
