Jun 24, 2011 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Kavminvodyavia is to take delivery of its first Airbus A320 in July, 2011.
The airline, based at Mineralnye Vody, has trained its flights crew at the Lithuanian aviation training company Baltic Aviation Academy and now has 12 pilots, 30 stewards, 20 engineers and technicians ready to launch operations with the new aircraft that is acquired on a leasing contract.
Kavminvodyavia has been banned from EU airspace with its fleet of TU-154 aircraft.
In January-May 2011 Kavminvodyavia transported a total of 183,655 passengers, up 3.6 percent, y-o-y, as well as 444 tonnes of air cargo and 655 tonnes of air mail.
In the fleet are now six TU-154 and two TU-204 aircraft.
