Oct 16, 2012 (newstodate): Shipments by ISAF secure a sustained boom in cargo at Latvia's Riga Airport.
Since April 2012, "Other airlines", primarily National Air Cargo and Kalitta Air operating the ISAF project, have topped the list at the airport as to cargo volumes, relegating the country's national airline airBaltic to a position as #2.
In September a total of 2,474 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, up 132 percent, y-o-y.
The totals included 1,413 tonnes carried by "other carriers".
In January-September 2012, the airport's total cargo volumes have thus reached 25,257 tonnes - an increase by 176 percent, y-o-y.
