Nov 08, 2012 (newstodate): The Armenian carrier Armavia's financial problems are now spilling over on the country's aviation infrastructure.
The Zvartnots Aero-Meteorological Center CJSC has informed that it will be unable to fulfill its contractual payments obligations to the airport as Armavia fails to pay its growing debts for the MET services provided.
The situation has become so serious that the MET services provider may be forced to cease operations altogether within the coming few days for lack of financial means, the MET services provider's acting director said at a new conference in Yerevan.
The termination of MET services will affect not only Armavia's but all other carriers' operations into, out of and through Armenia's airspace.
