Jun 19, 2012 (newstodate): Swissport is readying to launch cargo handling business at Copenhagen Denmark from July 1, 2012.
Effective from July 1, 2012, Swissport has named Morten Lihme head of its operation at the new terminal at Copenhagen Airport.
Morten Lihme comes from a position as Managing Director ATC Aviation Services, Nordic Region, before that holding management positions at SAS Cargo and Trust Forwarding
-Everything is falling into place, hiring of staff is proceeding and we have so far contracted about 25 staff, says Nils Pries Knudsen, Swissport Snr VP Europe Cargo Services division.
-From the start, we will be serving SWISS and Virgin Atlantic, and several other carriers as a spin-off from Swissport's international contracts. More regular customers are in the pipeline and will be announced from the coming autumn, says Mr Knudsen.
Swissport will be operating the former Novia Cargo Terminal on the airport's eastern premises, left vacant after Spirit Air Cargo Handling's move to new facilities from March 13, 2012.
