Sep 11, 2012 (newstodate): The third airline to take delivery of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 is Yakutia Airlines.
The carrier will take over its first Superjet 100 shortly after its final completion at Aviastar-SP, at Ulyanovsk, where it will be furnished with a new and updated cabin interior.
Ulyanovsk-based Yakutia Airlines has placed orders for delivery of a total of four Superjet 100 aircraft.
In the meantime, the row between the first operator of the Superjet 100, Armavia and Sukhoi continues as both two aircraft for Armavia are still with the manufacturer in Russia as Armavia has declined to take back its first aircraft after maintenance works, and denied acceptance of the second aircraft, already painted with the Armavia livery.
Besides, the tragic loss of a Superjet 100 on a demonstration flight in Indonesia earlier this year also tainted the image of the new Russian regional jet aircraft.
Aeroflot now operates nine Superjet 100 aircraft and still holds firm orders for a further 21 units.
