Oct 10, 2013 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo continued to see a recovery in cargo volumes in September 2013.
A total of 13,129 tonnes of cargo was carried - an increase by 5.4 percent, y-o-y, bringing this year's total to 108,670 tonnes, which is however still three percent below 2012-levels.
Volumes carried on passenger flights were up three percent, y-o-y, to 10,236 tonnes, while volumes on freighter services increased by 14.8 percent to 2,893 tonnes.
The crucial Asian traffic generated 7,322 tonnes but fell 0.4 percent, while the load factor in this segment dropped by 3.7 percentage-points to 73.8 percent.
The carrier's European traffic generated 2,099 tonnes and increased by 17.5 percent, y-o-y, and on the N American lanes the company transported 662 tonnes, seeing this volume up by 4.2 percent, with the load factor increasing by three percentage-points to 75 percent in September.
After the first nine months of this year, Finnair Cargo's volumes on the Asian traffic has declined by 4.1 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 60,447 tonnes.
