Oct 09, 2013 (newstodate): Shanghai remained by far the largest destination for Sweden's IATA export cargo in August 2013.
A total of 10,013 tonnes of export cargo was destined for Shanghai compared for 6,974 tonnes for its closest competitor, Chicago that came second on the list.
Both destinations even increased their share of the market by 11.3 and 15.5 percent y-o-y, respectively.
3rd came Seoul, up 2.4 percent to 4,319 tonnes, followed by Newark with 3,409 tonnes and up 24.9 percent.
With 3,269 tonnes Tokyo dropped 13.4 percent while #6, Toronto was also down 8.5 percent to 2,835 tonnes.
Among the top-25 list of destinations, Shanghai was alone in showing growth in China in August.
Thus Beijing was down 14.4 percent to 1,641 tonnes, while Hong Kong dropped 8.4 percent to 2,112 tonnes, and Taipei in the Republic of China was also down 2.3 percent to 1,220 tonnes.
